Problem Framing Sheet
Use this sheet to turn a vague concern into a clear design challenge. Do not write the final solution yet.
1. Who is affected?
Name a specific person, group, or type of learner/user.
2. Where does the problem happen?
Describe the setting, environment, or situation.
3. What is the difficulty?
Describe the friction, delay, discomfort, confusion, waste, exclusion, or missed opportunity.
4. Why does it matter?
Explain what the problem prevents, damages, interrupts, or makes harder.
5. Write your How Might We question
Example: How might we help [user] do [important thing] when [constraint/problem]?
6. List at least five assumptions
What are you guessing that you will need to test later?
Before uploading, check:
- The user is specific.
- The problem is real and observable.
- You have not already chosen the solution.
- The impact is clear.
- You listed at least five assumptions.
